We Must Do the Right Thing

I apologize for not blogging for some time. I must admit, once Governor Huckabee withdrew from the race, I lost my enthusiasm for politics. I could never bring myself to support Senator McCain, as he does not represent my values like Governor Huckabee does. The Republican Party has lost its way, and was taken to the woodshed like it deserved. Unfortunately, that means a liberal Democratic controlled White House and Congress.

I will be praying for President-Elect Barack Obama and his family, along with our elected leaders in Congress. After all, Barack Obama will be our next President, like it or not.

It is important for the Republican Party to recommit themselves to conservative principles. First and foremost, we must be the party that values each and every life. I think rather than touting that we are a "big tent" party, we need to be a party that stands up for pro-life, family value positions. We need to promote limited government and individual achievement. One way to do that is not penalize productivity. That's why we need to implement the Fair Tax. We also need to cut wasteful spending. The members of Congress who supported the bailout should be fired. I am flabbergasted by the number of Republicans who supported this robbing of the taxpayers to give to the rich. We need to protect our nation's sovereignty. That means protecting our nation's borders and not providing amnesty to illegal aliens. Seven years after 9/11, very little has been done to protect our borders. It is crucial that we be an ally and a defender of the nation of Israel. If we stand by our convictions and do not waver, I strongly believe the votes will follow.

We must do the right thing. We need to have a conservative movement in this country and become the force of the GOP. By this, I mean true conservatives in every sense of the word - not just morally liberal capitalist pigs. We need to retake Congress in 2010, and we need to elect a Huckabee Republican to the White House in 2012.

The old-guard GOP has been taking moral conservatives for granted for far too long. I am no longer willing to vote for the "lesser of two evils." I have drawn a line in the sand. I am a Huckabee Republican.
